HP Photosmart C4700 printer, USB (had it wireless, but that wasn't working either) and when I try to print, sometimes it works, and sometimes it works hours later (in the morning, voila! there it is, printed) and sometimes the only way to get the job to print is, turn the machine off and turn it back on again. Just like a Windows machine, which is not what i wanted when i splurged for an iMac.
Any ideas why the print job just sits and won't print, sometimes for hours and sometimes not at all? and what is happening when i re-start the machine that i could set the machine to do so i wouldn't have to re-start it?
Last evening, for example, i sent a job to the printer, and it sat. re-started the machine, and it printed. This morning, having done nothing other than put the machine to Sleep for the night, the printer status is 'unknown' so far as the HP Utility is concerned.
